Filters & Pen Tool

I used the cut out filter to achieve this effect on these models. I turned the opacity down slightly so it wasn't as full on. I also used the pen tool on these models to cut around them and then duplicated that layer, filling it with a color then moving it slightly to the left to create a shadow effect.

Shape Creation & Gradients

Today I experimented with shape creation & putting gradients on the shape. I used four different shapes as shown here, an arrow, a star, a bow and a crown. I played around with placing these in different places and angles. I also added a gradient to them all to experiment with gradients, only using the same colours from a dark colour to a light version.

21st January

Today I decided to experiment with filters, and also using the lasso tool and eraser to cut images out and place them somewhere else.

To do the first image, I used artistic filters and also a very strong unsharpen mask and smart blur. On the second one I used a cloud filter and changed the opacity to around 30%, then duplicated the layer and added pixel's to that one. I then erased parts of the layer so that only  certain area's had pixels.



To create this image I used an image of a Polar bear and using the lasso tool, cut him out and placed him on this image of a cliff. I edited around the image using the magnetic lasso tool at a feather of 5px, and also the eraser tool. I used colour layers to get rid of the image of a guy who was jumping of the cliff, and then also added circle brushes at a low opacity to the water to give it a shine. I used selective colouring and colour layers to make it seem like more natural looking and like the polar bear was part of the image. 

20th January

Today i experimented with text layers and brightness and contrast.



To create this effect I used seperate text layers, turning them with the CTRL and T tool to be at different angles, and also using the text size tool to make the font size larger and smaller. I then added text properties such as gradients , drop shadow and embossing the letter. I then copy merged all the letters and pasted it as a seperate image, adding a gradient of silver to black, then putting it below the other text.

I also experimented with brightness and contrast to create different feels to an image, making them darker or lighter as seen above.

I have filled in this table of skills, entailing what I already know about Photoshop & Using Camera's and then the thing's I have yet to try. I will be using this skills table as a guide and will be doing each one to show an example of them, including both the one's I have done already and the one's I have yet to try.
